Grandpa changed my daughter’s clothes every day, and when it was bath time, he always said, “Let me bathe her myself.” One day, I couldn’t take it anymore and hid the camera…

That “please” kept running through my head all night.

The next day, Emily’s teacher called and said my daughter had been unusually quiet in class. She asked to see the school nurse but refused to explain.

My heart sank.

When I got home, I opened Emily’s bedroom closet. In the bottom drawer, I found a bag of clothes Robert had taken off her over the past few days. Some of the items had dark, barely noticeable stains.

One terrible thought after another flashed through my head. I tried to talk calmly to my daughter.

– Honey, did your grandfather ever force you to do something you didnโ€™t want to do?

Emily looked at me for a long time and then looked down.

– Grandpa said that I shouldn’t tell you yet.

My whole body went cold.

โ€” What shouldnโ€™t you tell me?

She remained silent. At that moment, Robert entered the room. Seeing the bag in my hands, he turned pale.

“You weren’t supposed to find this,” he said.

I picked Emily up and immediately left the room.

I barely slept that night. Daniel insisted we talk to his father before assuming the worst. But I no longer trusted any explanation Robert could give.

The next morning, I set up a small hidden camera in the living room. It was pointed at the hallway and the closed bathroom door. I needed to understand what was going on while I was away.

At work, I spent the entire day monitoring the camera feed on my phone. At 3:40 PM, Robert picked Emily up from school. She wasn’t running like usual, but walking slowly, one arm pressed to her side.

Robert knelt down in front of her, looking worried, and asked:

โ€” Has it started again?

Emily nodded.

โ€” Should we tell mom?

โ€œNo,โ€ Robert replied. โ€œI need to make sure first.โ€

I couldn’t take it anymore. I ran out of work and was home twenty minutes later.

As soon as I opened the front door, I heard the sound of running water in the bathroom. I rushed down the hallway and swung the door open.
